Virtual Goat Show 2026

We are pleased to announce that the Harness Goat Society’s Second Virtual Show is taking place this year. Open to goats and handlers of all ages who are current members of the Harness Goat Society.

Event Rules

Photos and videos must be submitted by the goat’s owner or handler, or by a parent or guardian of the owner/handler;
One handler may enter multiple goats and classes; A goat may be entered in both working and in-hand classes, doing different activities;
No photo editing please;
By submitting photos and videos, owners agree that the Harness Goat Society may use them, with the photographer’s credit, on their media platforms;
HEALTH AND SAFETY – being strong and unpredictable in nature, all goats entered are deemed by owners to be their full responsibility in both the safety of themselves and their animals; All goats entering the virtual show must be registered with the Harness Goat Society – please complete and forward the registration form to Derek Humphries, Registration Secretary (contact details can be found within the registration form); Show entry fee is £5.00 per goat, you are welcome to enter your goat in as many classes as you wish.

Closing date for entries: 30th September 2026.

Judging and Awards

An experienced volunteer judge will be appointed and use a points system, which will be assigned to each entry (placed entries will receive award certificates).

Best in Show

Will be awarded when all classes have been judged and points allocated.

Champion and reserve rosettes to the two highest-scoring entries of all four events.

Judges Specials

Rosettes will be awarded to exhibits the judge considers of special merit.

Virtual Show Classes 2026

Novelty Classes 1-9:

1) Best Seasonal Goat – e.g. Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc.
2) Prettiest Doe.
3) Handsomest Buck.
4) Best Looking Wether.
5) Best Looking Kid up to 1 year old.
6) Best Veteran for over 7 years.
7) Best Trick.
8) Best Coloured Goat – judged on colour and pattern.
9) Best Fancy Dress.

Pack Goat Class 10:

10) Pack Goat – judged on suitability to task, fitting and visual effect.

Handy Goat Class 11:

11) Handy Goat – video entry only, please view the suggested course here.

Carriage Section Classes 12-19:

12) Best Vintage or Victorian cart. 2 or 4 wheeled, pulled by 1 goat.
13) Best Vintage or Victorian cart. 2 or 4 wheeled, pulled by 2 goats.
14) Best Exercise cart. 2 or 4 wheeled. Pulled by 1 goat.
15) Best Exercise cart. 2 or 4 wheeled. Pulled by 2 goats.

16) Best homemade cart. 2 or 4 wheeled. Pulled by 1 goat.
17) Best homemade cart. 2 or 4 wheeled. Pulled by 2 goats.
18) Best Trade turnout. Any 2 or 4-wheeled vehicle pulled by 1 goat.*
19) Best Trade turnout. Any 2 or 4-wheeled vehicle pulled by 2 goats.*

Suitable for Tradesman EG Baker, Butcher, Milkman, Grocer, Florist, Feed merchant, etc.
* Class 18 & 19. In the event of a tie, the handler’s turnout will be taken into
account.
